I started online roulette about 16 months ago and went up and down for a while. Up a little , down a little. I was still somewhat in control and aware but however lost about €1200 over a few months. So I stopped as I could see this was getting to be a problem and also aware that I’m dealing with an algorithm that is programmed to give a little and take a lot. Unfortunately for me I felt I could see patterns of numbers and that it would be possible to beat the system. After a few months of thinking I’m gonna win that €1200 back I opened up another online account and went on the roulette table again. But this time like a man with a plan determined to beat the house. And , in fairness for a while I did. Up €500 , then down €500. Up €1000 , and down again. The bets started to rise, my stack started to rise. Always going down , but always getting it back. Eventually I was down maybe €3/4K. But again one night won 80% of it back. Get out now I thought. Take the money and run. Put it back in your bank account and delete your account. I knew I was out of control. I knew I couldn’t keep on top of it. I knew if I didn’t stop that my luck would run out. Guess, what I lost the €3/4 grand back again. But then as usual won most of it back again. Then something changed. I threw more money at the table to win the losses back but nothing, more cash in the hole. I told myself stop and suck it up buttercup. Take the hit and split now. But no, I threw more cash to try and do the usual Hudini act, but not this time. Even over the weekend I lost anotheri and hopefully final couple of grand. I’d day im down €7,000 now. Today I shut down my two online accounts. And joined here tonight to see what’s happening. Few stories I’ve read are very similar to mine. But here’s my advice. The online roulette is an algorithm. An advanced technology. Studies players patterns of betting. And will give 30% to keep us coming. But will take 70%. I started with €50 one night and ended up on €3200 in a couple of hours and the proceeded to go back down to €1400…. all in one sitting. You know the drill. Up and down. The penny dropped . It didn’t matter how many times I was up 2 grand or 3 grand. I would always loose it back in the end. Things aren’t too bad as I’ve still got some cash to cover all the bills and in a few months I’ll have some savings back in the account. I didn’t tell my partner what happened . To be honest that’s the part I hate the most. I feel like I cheated on her. If she knew I blew 7 grand she’d go nuts. If she knew that I won what I lost back …. and then lost it again. Well you know. Anyways it stopped today, I hope.

I think you are just seeing patterns where they don’t exist.

These online casinos don’t need to use algorithms or “fix” the software because a strong house edge is built into roulette already (2-5% depending on number of zeros).

The “give 30% and take 70%” you suggest is not necessary for them. Those 2 green zeros are all they need to consistently make a profit off you, so they have no need to “fix” their roulette.

      Hi

Thanks for the reply and the input. It’s always good to get an outside opinio. Just to confirm I was playing on a european table which only has one green zero. Also I suppose I felt the programme was loaded at times because on many occasions 10 or 15 reds or blacks came up in a row. I thought to myself I wonder if I flipped a coin how many flips would it take to get 15 heads in a row? Also the same happened when I was betting high or low numbers. Again 10 or 15 high end numbers in succession. Sometimes when I saw this pattern I would close the game and start a fresh one. Other times unfortunately I would back to alternative positive the low number would show up. Sucked in. Anyways, as you say the house always wins.
