I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you ??

First of all – it is great that you have stopped gambling and I hope you have all the things in place to make it impossible for you to start again! (I know nothing is impossible – but you know what I mean!)

As for the debt, what worked for me – might not work for you because we are probably different ages, in different countries, I don’t know if you are still working or not, etc. etc.

All I can advise is that you get the best financial advice you can in your home country. I didn’t want to admit to my gambling to anyone like that (I felt ashamed of what I had done) and because of that I am sure I added a lot of money to my interest payments.

Find great financial advice where you live and be honest with them. That’s all I can say. I wish you well.

My life has gotten worse now that I gambled gamble, but I realize that probably the people who I interacted with financially before I gambled, made me feel crazy. I think too much, but having said that, it’s all about lies, and chance. Sometimes, life has a spin, and chose life, over spins. Today, is a new day. Tomorrow, is far away.

Gambling is never an option . You win 100 today,  they take 1000s tomorrow

Everyone should stop before it turns worst

      hi
it is a process, that takes years in my case.
it is only bad at the beginning, once you reach to a stage where your monthly installment is 25-30% of your income it become a something that you can live with it.

      few rules:
1: don’t take extra loans, extra money at this stage will increase your risk of relapse.
2: if you have credit cards, try to reach to a settlement with them i did close one credit card for 20% only (which is actually the principal amount the rest was interest and fines).
again you have to check what is possible in your country.
3:start from the small to the big, if you have 1000$ credit card and a 10000 credit card close the first one first.

Hi, It takes time to get out of debt and you have to be vigilant. Talk to the bank and all creditors that you can’t pay. They want their money and most likely will work with you on reduced payments. Don’t incur anymore debt!
If you can, get a second part time job. Increase your income. I did this for awhile and put that money towards my debt.
Don’t give up! It took me years but by the end of 2020, my lians and credit card debt incurred from gambling will be paid off!
There are no easy fixes. Keep strong and keep posting!

You may need support not just for your financial situation but for your depression as well.  There may be helplines in your country for that … check here:  https://www.befrienders.org/directory?country=  Also you may wish to contact a medic as sometimes there is a physical cause of depression that can be dealt with.

Above all – keep in contact with people … most depression passes – but keeping contact with friends and families helps to speed things up.
