These fobts are killing me! I had 1300 on me to buy a car and thought what’s a cheeky 50 going to do as I could knock him down to 1250 anyway! So I ended up losing 50 and it was like voice inside me said chase it as it come number 30 and I had 5 pound on 11 and 8 and nothing on 30 which is inbetween! So I went up the bank and took another 750 out! The last year or so I been winning losing winning losing but the last few months I have not had one session! It’s unreal and I feel there is a curse on me! Losing sessions from 200 to 2000! In the last few months! I had 15 grand in the bank and now I just checked and got 8800 after I just been paid today and I,am on min wage too! In a space of a couple of months I lost over 6 grand and all my wages! I,am thinking to get 800 out and try and make my savings back to 10 grand as I can relex with that amount then! But I know I could lose it easy like I have the last 8 times I played them! But surely you can,t keep on losing EVERY time! Have anyone else had unlucky sessions on these or is it just me? I can,t even sleep that well at night no more and don,t want to talk to no one!

We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you?re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We?re in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you?re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
And on that note….
I?m going to hand you over to our community because I?m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you ??
Take care
The Gambling Therapy Team

Hi Life and welcome to the site. Well done on starting your own thread here.
First of all from your posts I would say that I don’t think you are an unlucky gambler. You are a Compulsive gambler and there is a big difference.
It will help if you come to that realization yourself of course, check out the GA website and answer the 20 questions they have there and see what you think.
Read the other stories here, you will see a lot that you relate to. You will also see the success stories, what are they doing that you can apply to your own situation?
How about getting yourself banned from your local/usual bookies?
It also sounds like you have unaccountable, easy access to quite a lot of money. How can you limit that access? How can you make yourself accountable so that you can’t gamble secretly, can’t just pop up to the bank as soon as you get an urge?
Keep posting, let us know how you do with those GA questions and also let us know about the positive steps you can now take to make it harder to place your next bet.

Well done on your two days.
If the weekend was a big gambling time for you then try and plan the next two days with other things to fill both your time and thoughts.
Stay strong, one day at a time.
