I do not understand why gambling organisations are not made aware of people wanting to stop gambling?
If people have registered to sites like these, the government should put in place a registrar where companies are legally obliged to check those people who are trying to overcome their addiction. When people sign up, they could enable their email address to be linked to a government site to warn gambling companies not o email these people and to not allow them to gamble.
it is ridiculous that we don’t use the internet more to help those who want to change. Gambling companies need to be responsible too.
A petition and laws should come into affect to make it harder for companies to get their hands on people’s money because they cannot control their gambling addiction….. -

Paul, to my limited knowledge, the Gambling Industry has itself well covered by displaying Awareness posters in casinos and online to “protect” problem gamblers and they fund some free counselling and Support Sites (GT for one)
In reality the problem exists in the Compulsive Gambler (i.e.-you and me) not in the Industry. -

i believe there needs to be more – more information available to stop these gambling sites taking advantage – anyone who signs up to places like these , their email addresses should be made available to gambling sites so the urge doesn’t get the better of the CG and the gambling sites take more responsibility…
They need to do more – Why is the richest woman in the UK , the owner of gambling sites?
To many excuses for us CG – gambling companies need to made accountable – posters are not enough -

I hear you but it will never happen, Paul
The Gambling Industry will tell you what they want you hear but we know the bottom line is THEY ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY!
I saw a guy being chucked out of a casino by a “heavy” one night a few years ago. He was pleading and begging to be allowed to self exclude saying he had lost every cent of his salary and had two babies at home. The staff were sneering and mocking him, saying “OK, OK we heard it all before, see you on payday”!
That’s only the tip of the iceberg Paul but it showed me the ruthless, sinister scumbags that I was handing over all my salary to (and all I could borrow on the strength of it).
If I ever entered that casino (hellhole) again, I believe I would be equally guilty as the FATCATS who run the Industry.
Don’t bog yourself down with the wider picture Paul, just focus on getting through today and concentrate on never feeding those RATS ever again.
