I’m 22 and I’ve lost over 70 grand in the past two years. I knew I had gambling issues since I was in middle school, when I would gamble about anything with my friends. But it wasn’t a big deal back then, at least for me, cause it wasn’t a big sum of money that we were betting. However, things got serious after I got into university. Over the past two years, I’ve played poker, blackjack, slots, mini games, and sports betting. Exactly a year ago, I went on a trip to visit a friend. And I got the chance to the casino, which is when I started accumulate debt on my credit cards. I did gamble a little back and forth within this year. Whenever I’m close to paying off my debt (or at least part of it), I unintentionally started online gambling again, until I reached my credit limit. And that’s exactly what just happened again today. That’s the moment I’ve decided I have to take my gambling addiction seriously, and deal with it, and I came across this forum. I saw someone started a topic on keeping track of his/her days since quitting gambling. Since I have the habit of writing diaries, I figured keeping track on this forum may be helpful for me too. Today is day 0, and I will keep posting everyday, not only to make sure I come clean, but also to record my journey of self improvement and self growth.
