Hi.  I’ve been gambling for about 12 years now and created nothing but a mess for myself.  I played the slot machines.   I self excluded from the casinos twice before and it worked, I stopped going to them but I ended up playing the VLT’s instead.  The last time I gambled was on August 1, 2010, I spent almost every penny I had.  I finally had enough of this beast controlling my life, I got up on August 2 and went to the casino and self excluded again but this time I took it step further.  I went down to AADAC and talked with a counselor and will be joining an EGRIP group on September 1.  For the first time I feel like there’s some hope.

      Hi
Congratulations on the steps you have taken so far.  It sounds like you are really fighting to be gamble free, otherwise you wouldn’t be here i guess!  This site is fantastic, there are groups and advisors and so much non judgemental support from everyone because we are or have been in the same boat and will always be compulsive gamblers just in recovery.. There is hope and never give up on that.  We are all here with you

      Thanks P and Colin.
I’m happy about starting the therapy but terrified at the same time.  I know I need it, the gambling has just consumed to many years of my life and it has to stop.
