Thank you GT.org for allowing me to get my thoughts out to the community.

Never have I been more motivated to stop gambling. I would normally stop gambling when I had no money. It’s time to end this madness and learn once again to value trust, honesty and self respect. All of those qualities I once had but have been lost along with money due to gambling on slots. Honestly however it will be difficult as I do tend to retreat to the casino when I don’t want to reside in the real world probably the same reason someone uses drugs to escape their problems. I am not hooked to anything but gambling. Its put me in so much debt and my habit has contributed to failed relationships, isolation and financial jeopardy. When I get any money my impulse control goes completely out the window. It’s almost as if you go into autopilot. This is what I need help managing. I am hoping this wonderful website can provide me with the means to achieve my goal.

      Hi Minfield.

If you are really committed not to gamble again, then there is absolutely no reason why you ever should.

Like most people that post on this forum it’s more than likely you have tried to quit before and found it too hard. Now you’re here asking for support which is a big step in the right direction. Well done for that.

I would think in order to get the best support you’d be better off starting your own thread in the forum.

It is too dangerous to drink and gamble at the same time, your head won’t be clear, you lost of course, then you go again as you want to get back what you lost last time.
I have a problem and I think most of the gamble addict has it too, that is when you won, you felt fun and excited plus some winnings on hand, so you want to win more and go again. When you lost, you want to get it back so you want to go in a couple days or even the next day.
So if you want to stop going to the casino, DO NOT think what you had in the past, winning or losing, they are not important anymore, it happened, money has gone, face the reality, life is hard but you can see the light soon if you walk away from the casino.
