The main reason I think some people even if they lose a small amount of money then immediately want it back is to do with ego and hating to lose.

I was exactly the same when I gambled. Even if I was actually up thousands of pounds but then lost a few hundred of it I would want it back immediately cause to me that was my money. I never looked at how much I actually won that day even if it was over 10k. I just seemed to look at the fact in the end I lost £500 so winnings went down to 9.5k I wanted that 10k figure back!! This would then make be irrational and most cases lose the lot. Happened over and over again.

Truth of the matter is even if I left it at 10k. I would have come back next day to try making it 11k. If that worked I’ll come back again day after. If I lost it would chase losses. What we have to understand is that the cycle does not stop either way. We just have to stop playing to win!

My main problem was online casino gambling. I have now not gambled for over one month after finally putting my hands up and saying you can NEVER win in the long run. You have to accept that fact. Once you swallow your pride you can make steps to move on. I hope I stay on this non gambling lifestyle cause even one small win will set it all off again and I do not want that kind of life!

I read something which made a lot of sense in gambling. You never win any money. You just borrow it before giving it back.

My only advice is to really research into gambling and how it works. How it manipulates the mind and takes everything from you. It’s financial murder. The industry is murdering their victims financially. Once you start realising this remove gambling from your life. Gambling is not your friend.

Thanks for the message. It is a very very tough addiction and the only way to win it is not to take part. That way the industry does not get your money.

Has been a few weeks now since I last gambled and not getting any urges all to the fact I had to change my whole mindset to gambling . It can be done if you put your mind to it. I will post with updates . Stay strong

I’m sorry to hear that. From my experience of gambling and relapsing I found nothing really helped me to stop till I started reading up on gambling and the process behind it. The techniques and brainwashing used by this industry is disgusting. I haven’t stopped for long but I am confident this time round I will not be going back.

I hope you find the way and come out of this gambling trap that’s taken a hold of you.

I think what you have wrote is one the best advices to give. When you actually break it down and see if you win or lose you are always going to go back to gambling only then you will realise the trap you are in. Gambling is evil and its sole purpose it to take money from you. I have learnt this the hard way.
