Hi April
I just wanted to say “Hi” and let you know that we run groups especially for people who are new to our website which you might be interested in joining.
They take place at 16:00 on Monday’s and 15:00 on Thursdays (Your time) and they are run by someone with personal experience of what it’s like to have a gambling problem.
You can join the group through the “Group Schedule” page ??
Take Care
Janey1janey1ParticipantHi Wayne
I can hear the desperation in what you’re saying and I know many people using this site can remember a time when they felt just as you’ve described. Many of them are in a different frame of mind now because they’ve dedicated themselves to recovery and, although it can be a pretty BUMPY road from time to time, overall they are much happier and healthier having made that decision.
I don’t know exactly where you’re from but I have added a list of places I think may be local to you because I think it’s important you get some face to face support as well as continuing to use our services as and when you need to:

Hello and thanks for starting a thread in the Gambling Therapy forums
Here at Gambling Therapy we pride ourselves on being a caring and diverse online community who can help and support you with the difficulties you’re currently facing. We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
And on that note….
I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you ??
Take care
The Gambling Therapy Team
PS: Let me just remind you to take a look at our
privacy policy and terms and conditions so you know how it all works!

janey1ParticipantThat’s REALLY great news Sam, I’m so pleased for you.
Let us know how it goes ??
Janey
janey1ParticipantI saw your mention of a “chat date”, why not add a message to the meeting place forum so you can make sure people know when you’ll be in a group and stop missing you?
Take care
Janeyjaney1ParticipantWe’re all really proud of you ??
Janey
janey1ParticipantHi Kin
As you know, there are different types of strength and it takes strength to be honest about your pain, like you are being right here right now.
Focus on why you stopped gambling and hold on tight to those reasons with both hands, you can and will survive these feelings Kin, I know this because you have had the strength to survive so much already.
I hope to see you in a group soon. Take care.Bye for now
Janeyjaney1ParticipantHi Carole
Have you checked your profile to ensure the location and time zone are set up correctly because if they aren’t you won’t be able to see the groups in the group schedule appearing at the correct times for you.
If this doesn’t work can you let us know which browser you’re using? If you are using AOL you will need to change to something like firefox or google chrome for the site to work correctly.
Kind Regards
Janeyjaney1ParticipantHi Denise (and anyone else reading this)
Please post in the meeting place forum with times and dates you’d like to meet in un moderated chat so others can find you easily ??
Thanks
Janeyjaney1ParticipantHi Denise
We suspect you are using AOL, if this is the case please switch to a different browser such as firefox or google chrome as AOL has many issues when accessing our site.
Kind Regards
Janeyjaney1ParticipantVery expressive, thank you for sharing this!
Janey
janey1ParticipantGreat to see you in group today. I just wanted to reiterate that you deserve to be supported, comforted and happy.
It’s ok not to be in control of everything, in fact it’s pretty darn impossible to BE in control of everything…so why waste your energy trying?
Come back soon
Janeyjaney1ParticipantHi Sam
Great to *meet* you today, keep building on those 7/8 days of being gambling free. remember you are STRONG and capable of beating this.
Come back soon.
Janey
